I was born and raised in a Christian home in El Paso, Texas. We were always at church where my mom was the pianist and my dad was a deacon. I grew up loving music and singing at church. Some of my best memories are after church singings and fellowships.

At the age of nine during a church revival service I trusted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord & Savior. I grew up learning about Jesus but knew it was time to acknowledge Him as my personal Savior.

I attended Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas where I studied to become a High School Band Director. During my college years God begin calling me into full time ministry. In 1987 while serving as Music and Youth Director at Lamar Street Baptist in Sweetwater, I surrendered to that call on my life and was licensed and ordained to the Gospel Ministry.

Hardin Simmons was also the place that I met my future wife, Patti. We were good friends and then the Lord called us together and after graduation we were married in 1988.

I attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft Worth and also served the Valley Grove Baptist Church in Stephenville starting out as part time Music & Youth Director. The Lord allowed us to stay there 25 years before he began calling us here to TVBC.

In 2013 the Lord called us out of our comfort zone and to move to Temple to serve at TVBC as Minister of Music & Pastoral Care. Stepping out on faith and coming to a new place was a challenge, but we have seen the Lord’s hand on us as we minister here. We are excited about what the Lord is doing and what He has planned for Taylor’s Valley.

I enjoy golfing on occasions and working with CRU Vision at UMHB. I’m also active with the Singing Men of North Central Texas.
