TVBC Cares

Taylor’s Valley Baptist Church is proud to be a Stephen Ministry Congregation.

What is Stephen Ministry?

Stephen Ministry exists to organize, equip, and supervise a team of TVBC church members who are trained to provide one-on-one, Christ-centered care to people of the TVBC congregation and surrounding community. Stephen's Ministry looks to care for those who are experiencing life difficulties such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or relocation.

Who are Stephen Ministers?

Stephen Ministry Care Receivers

Stephen Ministers are TVBC church members who have completed the Stephen's Ministry training and have been commissioned to come alongside those who are hurting.

Typically, Stephen Ministers work with one care receiver at a time, meeting once a week for about an hour. Ministers are matched up with care receivers by the Stephen Ministry team.

Care Receivers are people within a church congregation or community who are experiencing difficult life events. These events can range from grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or relocation.

(Stephen Ministry believes in the utmost respect for the Stephen Ministers and the Stephen Ministry care receivers. Therefore, all information is held in strictest confidence by all involved.

If you would like to be paired with a Stephen Minister, please contact the TVBC church office at (254) 939-0503 or connect@tvbc.net. We will set up a meeting with our pastor or Stephen Leader to assess your needs for care and match you with a Stephen Minister.

There is no timeline for how long you can be matched with your Stephen Minister, the relationship lasts for as long as the need persists.
